Westfield is a city in Hamilton County, Indiana, United States. In the year 2010 United States Census, the population was 30,068. Westfield is in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 9,293 people, 3,386 households, and 2,454 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,218.2 people per square mile (470.3/km²). There were 3,606 housing units at an average density of 472.7/sq mi (182.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 93.60% White, 1.00% African American, 0.40% Native American, 1.81% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 1.86% from other races, and 1.23% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.83% of the population.

There were 3,386 households out of which 46.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.1% were married couples living together, 10.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 21.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.2% had someone living alone who was 65 or older. The average household size was 2.72, and the average family size was 3.20.

In the town, the population was spread out: Under 18 years, 32.8%; 18-24 years, 7.2%; 25-44 years, 40.0%; 45-64 years, 13.8%; and 65 years or older, 6.2%. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.4 males.

The median income for a household was $52,963; and for a family, $65,208. Males had a median income of $45,388; females, $26,864. The per capita income was $22,160. About 2.3% of families and 4.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.5% of those under 18 years and 3.7% 65 years or over.
