How much is my house worth?
How much your house is worth and how much you can sell it for are sometimes two different numbers. The current market is what determines how much you can sell your house for. You need to have a comparative market analysis done to determine what has sold in your neighborhood recently to best help decide how much to list your house for. If I remodel, will I get my money back out of it?
Statistics have shown that some upgrades are more profitable than others. These are usually upgrades that increase the sq. ft. of the home or benefit key selling areas of the house such as the kitchen or master bath. Ultimately, any upgrades that are done may help a house sell faster but not necessarily for more money. It is wise to seek the advice of your Realtor and their team of experts before investing in any upgrades of significant costs.
Should I be looking at New Construction or Existing Homes for Sale?
Both markets have benefits and drawbacks. New construction is generally less initial maintenance and is a wise choice for the buyer who is not a “handy man”. New construction doesn’t generally come with an established, mature yard so this is a consideration. Buyers need to thoughtfully consider the phase of completion the neighborhood is in to understand how it will eventually turn out. Existing homes can often be more “unique” and have more mature trees and landscaping but can also require more internal upkeep depending on the age of the home. Knowing what you want in a house can help you decide what is right for you.
How do I get started looking for a home?
The first step in buying a home is knowing what price range you would like to be looking at. The best way to informatively explore this is to speak to a knowledgeable mortgage lender. Once your mortgage lender has helped advise you of a comfortable price range, you need to think about the area you would like to be in factoring in jobs, schools, and any other important locations you would like to include.

How long does it typically take to purchase a home from the time you start looking to when you close on the home?
This varies from buyer to buyer but most people will look at homes over a period of a month or two until they find the right home. Once an offer is submitted, average closing time is within 30-45 days after the original offer is accepted.
